Members are invited to submit recipes using any of the fruits on our Fruit list that could be of interest to others.
In the interest of preserving the benefits of eating healthy fruit, we prefer to list recipes that contain the least amount of sugar, saturated fat and salt possible.
Sometimes a recipe can be sweetened by adding some other naturally sweet fruit or juice, eg date puree. Or, experiment with the recipe using an acceptably safe sweetener such as Stevia. Replace cream with low fat cottage cheese, silken tofu or skim milk powder plus water. Omit butter, or replace with olive or canola oils. Omit salt and obtain the desired flavouring with herbs and spices.
Also, try to avoid risk-laden, unhealthy cooking methods such as deep frying.
